Answers for the updeshamrita reading July 19

1. The first point about preaching on a grand scale is that we must do what's within our personal capacity. Every person has a different capacity for preaching on a small or bigger scale. It refers to the verse from the Bhakti Rasamrita Sindu, prohibiting us to endeavor to build many temples and avoiding too many disciples. And being too enthusiastic about initiating grand projects. But what did srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati do? What did Srila Prabhupada do? Exactly that forbidden thing. So srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati answered : "cut your coat according to your cloth". In otherwords, if you have the capacity, then do big projects but if you don't then do small. it's according to one's capacity.

2. "There are two kinds of created beings in this world, godly and demoniac. Those dedicated to the devotional service of Lord Visnu are godly, and those opposed to such service are demoniac." Visnu Purana
"O Partha, there are two types of people born into this world--the divine and the diabolical. I have described the divine in detail. Now listen to me as I describe the diabolical." Gita 16.6

 3. The struggle begins at madhyama-adhikari stage, in which one tries to convert the environment to his/her desires. There is also a stage later in devotional life before Apana-dasa, Bhava-Bhakti and prema-Bhakti. That is sadhana-Dasa, a period of full struggle.

4. Kanishta-adhikari, madhyama-adhikari, and uttama-adhikari.

 5. In lila there is struggle, like a competition, and it is not mundane jealousy like in the material world. that is why SSM calls it "a sweet struggle"
